I was thinking about your game. I was thinking you could have this game submitted as the hidden meaning of a childhood poem. See if wave-finders will allow this idea submission. Call it something like the pawn's poem or something. Something where some someone either heals someone miscellaneously, or bails someone out of jail, or pays off someone's debt so something like this. When the aided person ask how they can repay them for their kindness. The creature/person tells them that they could be summoned later and they might even experience death but not to worry because you will return healed and intact. Then they leave them with a pawn from a chessboard. Have it as two wizards playing a sort of chess game with live people. Have them use a sort of summoning spell to get them their since the summoned creature never actually dies, they just return to where they were summoned all healed up. It could be an awesome plot hook. A good way for someone to not loose their character in a game or something like that.

i remember seeing some sort of EPIC Dragon game that used this type of third person game play with mortal.. might be worth a look
